Slide Background
WHO WE ARE

With over 30 years of expertise in equipping pastors, educators, and church workers, NFBS is dedicated to creating a seminary environment where students discover their God-given callings and pursue their unique path of ministry with confidence and clarity.

MISSION

To provide study programs with Christ-centered curriculum that will equip individuals to do the ministry.

VISION

To have a community of Christ-centered Pastors/Educators in Negros Occidental who will endeavor to reclaim the seven mountains of culture: Government, Family, Religion, Education, Business, Media, Arts and Entertainment for the glory of God.

OUR HISTORY

The outpouring of God’s blessings was prayed for by a small and simple group of Bible Teachers and Pastors namely: Amando A. Suyod, Jr., Patricio M. Magaso, Philip A. Aligarbes, Charles E. Vidal and Doris N. Fernandez together with Rev. Bernardo N. Escanlar of Binicuil Fellowship Baptist Church, way back in 1991. During this time, there was a pressing need for Church’s workers with the continued to growth of the work in southern part of  Negros Island, Philippines. In  June of that year, Fellowship Baptist Seminary (FBS)  was started. Classes were held for the first time at the residential compound of  Dr. Enrique M. Serna, Jr. at  G. Cordova St., Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

LIFE AT NFBS

NFBS values relationship. We embrace our calling in the ministry, demonstrate courage in service and uphold courtesy toward others.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the scriptures.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE IN THE DIVINE INSPIRATION AND AUTHORITY OF THE SCRIPTURES. By this is meant a miraculous guidance of the Holy Spirit in their original writing, extending to all parts of the Scriptures equally, applying even to the choice of words, so that the result is the very Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice. Moreover, it is our conviction that God has exercised such singular care and providence through the ages in preserving the written Word, that the Scriptures as we now have them are in every essential particular as original given and contain all things necessary to salvation and Christian life.

(Scripture References: Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:11, 105, 160; John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:16-17)

We believe in the one God.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE IN THE ONE GOD revealed as eternally existing in three equal persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the Holy Spirit as a divine person and personally distinct from the Father and the Son.

(Scripture References: Gen. 1:1,26; Matthew 28:19-20; John 1:1;10:30; Acts 5:4; 1 Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:6; 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 11:6;)

We believe that man was created in the image of God.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE THAT MAN WAS CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD, that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical but also spiritual death which is separation from God and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility becomes sinners in thought, word and deed. And with such nature, they are incapable of producing anything acceptable to God.

(Scripture References: Gen. 1:26-28; Rom. 3:10 12; 5:12,14,17,19)

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS BEGOTTEN OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. We believe that He died for the sins of man as representative and substitute and that His death was a sufficient expiation for the guilt of all men. We believe in the resurrection of the glorified body of our Lord and His ascension into heaven and His present life there for us as High Priest and advocate.

(Scripture References: Isa. 9:6; Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 2:1-20; Gal. 4:4; 1 John 2:1)

We believe that men are justified by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE THAT MEN ARE JUSTIFIED BY GRACE ALONE, THROUGH FAITH ALONE, IN CHRIST ALONE, on the ground of the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God.

(Scripture References: John 1:12; 3:16-18; Gal. 3:13; Eph. 2:8-9; Tit. 3:5-7; 1 Pet. 1:18)

We believe that it is the duty of every believer to live a holy life unto God.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE THAT IT IS THE DUTY OF EVERY BELIEVER TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE UNTO GOD, keeping himself unspotted from the world and that it is God’s intention that this shall be accomplished in the believer’s life by his constant dependence on the divine enablement of the indwelling Holy Spirit. We believe that this experience of deliverance from sin and empowerment for service is designated in the Scripture as the filling with the Spirit rather than His baptism. Thus, the baptism with the Spirit is not an experience to be sought subsequent to regeneration but is already an accomplished fact.

(Scripture References: Rom. 12:1-2; Gal. 6:10; 1 Pet. 1:14-16; 1 John 2:15-17)

We believe in the personal, bodily and pre-millennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE IN THE PERSONAL, BODILY AND PRE-MILLENIAL RETURN OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST after the 70th Week of Daniel. He will then setup His Kingdom upon the kingdom to the Father which the Godhead may be all in all.

(Scripture References: Zech. 14:4, 8; Matt. 24:30; Acts 1:9-11; Rev. 1:7)
